Azul’s Story: A Miracle Born from Love and Teamwork

💙 Meet Azul – A Fighter from the Start

Arami, lovingly known as Azul, is a joyful, bright-eyed little girl whose laughter lights up any room. But behind her playful spirit was a devastating reality: Azul suffered from a rare and severe liver disease that was destroying her health from the inside out. Her condition deteriorated so quickly that a liver transplant became her only chance at survival.

As her condition worsened, her family was overwhelmed with fear. The doctors at the National Institute of Pediatrics (INP) confirmed the urgency — Azul needed a living donor liver transplant immediately. But in Mexico, where the rate of deceased donation is critically low, time was not on her side. It was now or never.

🆘 A Race Against Time

While Azul waited in the hospital, weak and jaundiced, her family launched a desperate plea: they needed blood donors and support for her upcoming transplant.

“URGENTE: Arami necesita 10 donadores de sangre… Gracias a todos los que han colaborado para darle a Arami una segunda oportunidad de vivir.”

“URGENT: Arami needs 10 blood donors… Thank you to everyone helping give her a second chance at life.”

The call for help was answered with compassion. Strangers showed up to donate blood. Friends and followers shared her story. And behind it all, Fight For Life Club Foundation was working non-stop to support her journey to the operating room.

🤝 A Historic Week at INP

Azul’s transplant wasn’t just a life-saving procedure — it became part of a historic moment. In the same week, the National Institute of Pediatrics (INP), with the collaboration of Fight For Life Club Foundation, successfully performed two pediatric living-donor liver transplants — a milestone never before achieved in the country.

Azul’s transplant was one of them.

A dedicated team of surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and intensive care specialists came together with passion and precision.

Led by Dr. Antonio Medina, Esperanza Vidales and Dr. Manuel Rodríguez-Dávalos, the surgery was long and delicate — a heroic effort to save a child’s life.

Azul’s living donor, a courageous family member, gave her the gift of life — a piece of their own liver. It was an act of pure love.

When the surgery ended, the team emerged with smiles and tears: Azul had made it through. The transplant was a success.

🌈 Recovery and Joy

Azul spent several days in intensive care, watched closely by the incredible pediatric ICU team. She showed strength beyond her years. Within days, the yellow faded from her skin, and the sparkle returned to her eyes.

Soon, she was sitting up, smiling at her parents, and even asking to play.

She was going home — with a healthy liver and a second chance at life.

Today, Azul continues to grow stronger. Her story is a beacon of hope for other children still waiting, still fighting.

“Azul’s life was saved by teamwork, compassion, and love. She reminds us why we fight every day to give more children a second chance.” – Fight For Life Club
