Valeria’s Story: A Second Chance for a Little Champion

💛 From Terrifying Bleeds to Hope

Valeria was just a toddler when her life took a terrifying turn. What started as stomach discomfort turned into a nightmare — she began vomiting blood, terrifying her family. Doctors discovered that a blood clot in her portal vein was preventing normal blood flow to her liver, leading to dangerously swollen veins in her esophagus. Each episode put her life at risk.

Her parents were told the only long-term solution was a Meso-Rex bypass, a complex and expensive surgery unavailable in Mexico. It felt impossible.

“They told us her condition was like a ticking time bomb. At any moment, another vein could burst. We lived in constant fear.” – Fernando, Valeria’s father

💔 A Family’s Fight

The cost of the surgery in the was overwhelming. Valeria’s family launched a grassroots campaign — raffles, events, bake sales — anything to keep their little girl alive. But time was running out. They were running out of options.

That’s when Fight For Life Club Foundation stepped in.

💖 Our First Champion

Valeria became the first child ever supported by Fight For Life Club. We designed a crowdfunding campaign, mobilized international support, and helped her family connect with the world-renowned surgeon at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago.

We made sure her family could focus on what mattered most: being there for Valeria.

✨ The Surgery That Saved Her

On a hopeful spring morning, Valeria was wheeled into surgery. Her tiny frame held incredible strength — the strength of a fighter. In a delicate procedure, her jugular vein was used to bypass the clot and restore blood flow to her liver.

It worked.

Valeria’s recovery was nothing short of miraculous. Days after surgery, she opened her eyes and smiled. The swelling in her veins was gone. Her liver was healing.

“We got our little girl back. It was like seeing her born again.” – Tamy, Valeria’s mother

🌈 A Joyful Recovery

Today, Valeria is back home, back in school, and back to being a kid. She’s riding bikes, playing soccer, and laughing — something her parents feared she might never do again.

Every day is a blessing. Every check-up brings good news. And every smile is a reminder of what’s possible when people come together to save a child’s life.
